When using analytical data in real-time to produce predictive answers and situational awareness, having confidence in the data is paramount. This webinar will discuss a few examples of the impact of low quality of acquired data and how it will errode the confidence needed to make real time decisions. We will further discuss a few examples of how data can be assessed for appropriate use and a few techniques to augment this data when answers are needed. This webinar helps show how a company can use open standards-based solutions like the proposed Energistics Data Assurance process to qualify data for use in the analytical and decision making processes.

David C. Johnson

David C. Johnson has worked for more than 20 years as a developer, designer, database administrator, real-time advisor and product manager for companies including Landmark, Halliburton and Kongsberg. Mr. Johnson has been active in industry data standards including the Energistics community since its inception 14 years ago and is currently the co-chair of the Energistic WITSML special interest group. He joined the energy industry as a software designer and developer in Canada, later moving to the United States to manage a team of people providing data management and engineering technologies. Mr. Johnson graduated with a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada with specialty in databases and data management.
