Bryan Atchison

Bryan graduated with an honours degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1988. Following two years working with a Drilling Contractor, he returned to university graduating with a Masters in Petroleum Engineering. He has held Drilling Supervisor, Engineering, Superintendent and Drilling Manager positions in Operators. 

He then joined Robert Gordon University in 2017 in a business facing role delivering and creating courses that optimize the skill sets of well engineering personnel for well control and high risk critical operations using numerical drilling simulators. The university environment coupled with a career in well engineering enabled the research and development for Automated Well Control. 

In 2018, Bryan co-founded Safe Influx Ltd, the first company to provide fully Automated Well Control. He is Managing Director at Safe Influx.

Hani Ibrahim (Moderator)

Consultant, Drilling Solutions Advisor and SME Drilling Optimization

Hani Ibrahim is a consultant, Drilling Solutions Advisor and SME Drilling Optimization working with the O&G and Geothermal industries to provide the best available system for their requirements. Previously he was a Well Construction Business manager for H&P, a Drilling Advisor and Area Drilling Manager for D&M Schlumberger. His career traverses across many engineering and operations posts in USA, Europe, and the Middle East with Operators and service companies with global coverage. Hani is an SPE member for over 35 years. He has taught many Oil & Gas industry seminars and published many SPE papers, mainly in the area of drilling optimization. His involvement in the Drilling Optimization effort has been for over 15 years and in the Drilling industry for over 35 years. Hani holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the Suez Canal University.
