Each webinar is a 1-hour presentation followed by a live/recorded 30-minute Q&A session. It also features a post-webinar Happy Hour event via Facebook where you can ask the speaker anything! Happy Hour is presented by industry-recognized experts from the oil and gas communities.

    Dr. Mohammed Razik Shaikh, SPEC

    Expert Speaker

    Dr Razik Shaikh has over 20 years’ experience working in the Oil and Gas sector in Production and Development Geology in both Clastics and Carbonates; Oil and Gas; IOR and EOR working predominantly in the Middle East (for Dubai Petroleum Company, Shell/PDO and KUFPEC) and also South East Asia (Shell Malaysia, KUFPEC Malaysia and KUFPEC Indonesia).  Dr Shaikh has a BSc Honours Degree in Geology from Kingston Polytechnic and an MSc Degree in Petroleum Geology from Imperial College.  Dr Shaikh read for his Doctorate in Industrial Geology, specialising in Clastic Sedimentology, at the Camborne School of Mines, University of Exeter. 

    Dr Shaikh has substantial exposure in oil and gas fields, carbonates and clastic, both onshore and offshore deep and shallow water.  He has taken a Lead or Focal Point role in many projects ensuring deliverables and targets are both understood and met.  A key collaborator with Stakeholders and is experienced in presenting to Partners where necessary.  His main area of expertise include Well and Reservoir Management, Static Reservoir Modelling and Well Delivery. 

    Dr Shaikh has also served the SPE in numerous capacities including Northern Emirates Section Chairman in 2005.  He served as the Engineering Professionalism Committee Chairman in 2009 and 2014 and is currently a member of both the Business Management and Leadership Committee and Engineering Professionalism Committee.  He attained SPE Certification in 2006.

    Mr. Alok Jain

    President, Asset Management Solutions, Inc.

    Mr. Jain is President of Asset Management Solutions, Inc. (AMSI), a company that he formed after taking retirement from ConocoPhillips in late 2003. AMSI is involved in training, advisory and consulting services related to the management of upstream assets. Mr. Jain has over 40 years of experience in various aspects of the oil and gas industry. He is also the Chairman of Global Training Committee for Society of Petroleum Engineers and a member of the SPE’s Global Management and Advisory Committee.  

    Mr. Jain served Conoco for over 22 years in technical and leadership roles with specific focus on Asset Management, Project Management, and Reservoir Engineering, in the U.S. and international locations like Nigeria, Norway, and Dubai and has a long history of creating extraordinary value for the companies where he worked.  

    He holds a B.Sc. degree in Chemical Engineering from Punjab University, Chandigarh, a post graduate diploma in Petroleum Refining and Petro-chemicals from IIP Dehradun, and a M.Sc. degree in Petroleum Engineering from University of Alberta in Canada and has attended Penn State’s Executive Development Program in 1992 and a Trailblazer Program for Executive Development by London School of Business in 2002.

    Dr. Chase has BS, MS, and PhD degrees in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering from Penn State University and is a registered professional engineer in Ohio.  He served as head of the Petroleum Engineering Department at Marietta College for 37 years and retired in May 2015.  He has served as a consultant to numerous oil and gas companies for nearly 40 years.  He has been an SPE member since 1971 and served SPE in numerous capacities including on its Board of Directors.  He co-teaches the SPE short course entitled “A Review for the Principles and Practice Examination.”

    Dr. Richard Hughes

    Professional-in-Residence/Campanile Charities Professor of Petroleum Engineering, Louisiana State University

    Dr. Hughes is a Professional-in-Residence and the Campanile Charities Professor of Petroleum Engineering at the Craft & Hawkins Department of Petroleum Engineering at Louisiana State University. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology and held various production, reservoir and IT positions with Tenneco Oil Company, Dwights EnergyData and Amerada Hess. Dr. Hughes earned his master’s and doctorate degrees in Petroleum Engineering from Stanford University, then joined the University of Oklahoma’s Mewbourne School of Petroleum and Geological Engineering as an assistant professor prior to LSU. His research interests include using CO2 for enhanced oil recovery and carbon sequestration, modeling multiphase flow in porous media and rock fractures, production data analysis, natural gas storage, and reservoir engineering of unconventional resources.

Он планировал и реализовывал программы разработки месторождений, основываясь на исследованиях по определению свойств коллекторов, и имеет опыт работы в области закачки газа в пласт, заводнения и технического обслуживания в полевых условиях.  

    Г-н Хэйнс по образованию инженер, учился в Техасе, также имеет сертификат SPE «инженер-нефтяник». Он является членом SPE  с 1978 года и в настоящее время работает в компании Shell советником по обучению инженеров-разработчиков.
