Angus Jamieson

Professor, University of the Highlands and Islands

Jamieson is Professor of Offshore Engineering at the University of the Highlands and Islands in Inverness, Scotland. He has 38 years of offshore engineering experience in maritime surveying and directional drilling. A graduate of Heriot Watt University Angus worked at sea in Pipelaying, Anchor Handling, Platform Positioning and Underwater Operations before entering the drilling world in 1984 developing a new directional drilling software application, COMPASS, now offered by the Landmark group.  In more recent years, Angus has been a consultant in high accuracy drilling operations. He is a former chairman of the ISCWSA and was primary author of the ISCWSA e-book on wellbore positioning.
