Xiaoyun Li

Xiaoyun Li is a specialist within hydrate control and Flow Assurance and is currently employed at Equinor ASA in Norway. Prior to working at Equinor, she was a research scientist at Sintef in Trondheim, Norway. She has worked on most of the hydrate related issues including hydrate equilibrium and thermodynamic inhibitors, low dosage hydrate inhibitors (KHI & AA), natural hydrate formation kinetics and transportability for various crude oil systems, plugging risk assessment for under-inhibited fluid systems, risk based hydrate management and hydrate plug properties, safety and remediation techniques. She holds a PhD from the Institute of Physical Chemistry, The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim, Norway.

Rogerio Leite

Rogério Leite is a senior flow assurance advisor at Petrobras, currently based in the company's corporate area of artificial lift and flow assurance. He holds a bachelor's degree in Control and Automation Engineering from UFSC in 2003, a master's degree in Fluid Mechanics from UFRJ in 2015, and a postgraduate degree in Data Science from PUC-RIO in 2020.

Rogério has been working at Petrobras for 19 years, always in the field of artificial lift and flow assurance. He has 16 years’ experience in deep water Campos Basin operations.

Since 2021, Rogério is responsible for leading Petrobras’ flow assurance team. His main activities are to provide technical support for the business units, to write guidelines for operations and for new design projects, and to follow-up research projects at CENPES R&D Center.

Doug Turner

Doug Turner is the Principal Flow Assurance Engineer on Hydrate Management for ExxonMobil. He completed his Masters and PhD at the Colorado School of Mines Center for Hydrate Research in 2005. He has worked at ExxonMobil for 17 years, during which time he conducted extensive research studies on hydrate blockage formation, led development projects for Canada East offshore arctic fields, and supported numerous hydrate remediation activities globally. In today’s role, he acts as advisor to the company on hydrate management, with aspects of new hydrate technology development, hydrate strategy planning for new projects, remediation of worldwide hydrate issues, and mentoring of coworkers. 

Julie Morgan (Moderator)

Dr Morgan has over 35 years engineering experience, with more than 30 being spent working in the oil and gas business. She realized that she was a convert to flow assurance roughly 20 years ago and has been promoting the subject ever since. She has worked in the UK, Europe, USA, Africa and Asia-Pacific and is now the Chief Flow Assurance Engineer for Woodside Energy Ltd., based in Perth, Western Australia. Julie has a PhD, MEng and MA in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cambridge, UK.
