Innovation has always played and will continue to play a very important role in our industry. Research shows that the best innovation emerges from team work rather than individual effort given that the complexity of today's problems often demand a combination of a variety skill sets which are best found in teams rather than an individual. This webinar will present several components of the drivers for innovation. The role of the individual and skills needed to bring into team work will be discussed, as well what soft skills are necessary to be a successful member of a team. This webinar will include the possible impact of the current product price on the drive to reduce cost through collaborative effort.

Egbert Imomoh

2013 SPE President

Mr. Imomoh was the 2013 SPE President and had previously served on the SPE board as the Regional Director for Africa. He is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from the University of Birmingham, England. He joined Shell in 1968 as a wellsite petroleum Engineer and held many technical and managerial positions in Nigeria, United Kingdom and Holland until he retired in 2002 as deputy MD of Shell Nigeria. Subsequently he joined the team that formed Afren and stepped down as Chairman of the board in June 2015.

He joined the board of GTBank Nigeria in 2005 and retired in 2015 after serving as its Chairman for two years. He is currently Chairman of InvestmentOne, a financial services company in Nigeria. He has been honoured by the Nigerian Government as a Commander of the Niger and by Universities of Port Harcourt and Uyo with honourary doctorate degrees.
