Tackling methane emissions across the full natural gas value chain requires international cooperation among industries, governments, civil society and NGOs. This webinar introduces the policy context and the voluntary efforts from the O&G industry to reduce methane emissions. The session will review two of the leading initiatives for methane emission reporting (OGMP2.0) and country-level target setting (GMA). In a third phase, OGCI will present its near-zero intensity target by 2025, progress to date, and broader support to engage with the rest of the Natural Gas value chain to reduce methane emissions. The session concludes with a Q&A with the audience.
Duration: 1.5 Hours
This series of webinars between thought leaders on climate change in the O&G industry and the broader O&G industry around the world will be undertaken in an effort to deepen understanding around issues of climate change and receive feedback from the wider oil and gas industry on the energy transition. A series of virtual dialogues will be held over 2020 with global scope, to discuss sustainability around key topics such as CCUS, reducing methane emissions, collaborative action, etc.
