SPE Live: Technical Directors Series — Reservoir and Production & Operations

This SPE Live will discuss the benefits and challenges of integrated subsurface and surface simulation tools for screening new developments, field rehabilitation, and IOR/EOR using CCS.

The availability of ever more sophisticated, multi-functional tools allows the project teams to quickly study dependencies, inter-face issues, business opportunities and technical/commercial risks. These models are also very valuable in presenting the opportunities and risks to management.

However, these tools depend on strength of the component functions and their transparency to the subject matter experts on the project team. Integrated cross-functional capabilities, digitalization, and automation along with emerging policies limit exploration and incentivise CCUS are creating exciting opportunities for wider scale adoption of EOR.

There are also some R&D tasks that need to be addressed to have a reliable geologic storage.

This SPE Live is categorized under the Reservoir and Production and Operations and Projects, Facilities and Construction technical disciplines.
